Project "DOLPHIN" at the elementary school Kette in Murn

At the elementary school Kette in Murn in Ljubljana we have prepared educational project on the theme "Dolphins" that lasted for half a year (since October 2006 - June 2007). More than 40 pupils between the age of 7 - 9 years participated.

The project's goal was informing about the sea environment and getting to know life in the sea, with the emphasis on animals, especially dolphins. Children learned the importance of their role for keeping balance in the ecosystem, and they actively cooperated by bringing material, books, internet data, posters, toys and similar. They watched popular series, were learning why it is necessery to protect and conserve the dolphins. Kids actively participated with great interest and got to know that dolphins regulary appear in Slovenian sea, in spite of it beeing small. Common education, project etc. brought everything to it's final event in June 2007 - the preparation of very interesting and VERY successful exhibition about dolphins with more than 100 (!) original paintings and quit about the life od the dolphins. Granting of the prizes was happy and variegated, and for the first three "quizknowledgests" we had organized participation in the research of dolphins with the boat "Vivamar".
